I’m a Tech Lead at New Relic, where I lead the distributed tracing ingestion team. We build and operate the pipeline that processes billions of trace events every day — reliably, at scale, without cutting corners.
My focus is on high-throughput distributed systems: the kind where failure modes matter, latency budgets are real, and architectural decisions have lasting consequences. I care about building systems that hold up under pressure and teams that understand why they do.
I’ve been doing this long enough to know that good engineering isn’t just about the code — it’s about the right abstractions, the right tradeoffs, and making sure the people around you can reason about the system too.
